The young have such a precious gift. I don't think any of us know it until we are older and look in the eyes of our children to see the gift that we all long for. The gift includes such things as extra free time, lack of economic responsibility, an un-jaded look at the world, a precious innocence, and many others. The gift seems to fade away rather then be ripped away. The gift seems to fade so slowly that one wakes up one day to the knowledge that suddenly the gift is gone.

Jesus said that we should come to him as a child. The one idea that comes to mind when I think of these words of Jesus is that a child has total trust. My daughter yesterday stood on top of our coffee table. She reached out her arms and yelled "daddy." Before I could even respond she was already jumping. She knew that I was going to catch her and trusted me completely.

We need to have this same type of trust in God. All we have to do is say "Father" and he is right there with us. In truth he is always with us it is just a matter of us recognizing His presence.

So today set forth your life to reclaim the gift of the young, give yourself some rest, let go of the troubles of the world, and allow yourself to put all your trust in God.
