VP Debate Recap

Here is my opinion on last night's vice-presidential debate. I thought it really was the tale of two debates. The first half was flat out owned by Joe Biden. Sarah Palin looked stiff and nervous. Of course who wouldn't be. But then the second half was owned by Sarah Palin. She seemed to get a lot of traction in arguments on the war such as when she stated that the policy of the Obama/Biden ticket was equivalent to "waving the white flag of surrender."

I was disappointed at first that Palin did not answer the questions of the moderator. She seemed dodgy and shifty. She seemed to take the arguments where she wanted them to go. While this was probably the strategy of her people it frustrated me.

Biden was good, but had no real engagement. He seemed like a talking head spouting off statistics and trying to make Obama's policies seem palatable.

In the end it was a good debate for both sides. Biden didn't have a big gaff and Palin ended up holding her own.
