Jacob wrestled with an Angel of God. Some translations use man and others use angel. In any event the end result of this battle with God is that Jacob's name is changed to Israel and his hip is dislocated giving him a permanent limp. I wonder how many of us are wrestling with God proverbially. What I mean is are we going to pursue what God's desire is for us or are we going to pursue our own desire? It seemed that Jacob was pursuing what he wanted until God got him alone to wrestle. Don't miss out on moments of solitude that God can use to direct your life.
