I Samuel 9-12
Be careful what you ask for! In this passage we read the fulfillment of the people of Israel's disobedience to God in asking for a King. The people had rejected God as their King in feeling that they had a need for a visible King like the other nations surrounding them. God grants this request but warns the people not to go into any more disobedience. It seems as if this one act leads the people down a path of disobedience. What in your life are you asking for right now that is not in the will of God for your life, but you keep asking for it anyway? Maybe it is time to see God do a work in your present situation and not always be begging for a change in that situation.
