Day 96

I Kings 12-16

Do you ever wonder what your decisions will mean for your immediate family or maybe your future family? Do you ever wonder what influence you will have on the future generations of your family? Rehoboam, Solomon's son, had an incredible choice to make. He could either choose to be just like his father in the way he treated the people or do something different. He chose to be harsher. It is interesting that he took the advice of his boyhood friends instead of those who were older. In fact he despised the advice of those older folks. It makes me wonder how much I listen to the words of wisdom of those who have gone before and are older. Make sure that you make godly decisions each day because you never know how you will influence all of the generations after you. Just look at what happens after Rehoboam makes this terrible decision.
