Ezekiel 1-6
Ezekiel is one of the strangest characters in all the Bible. God asks him to proclaim a message of destruction in these 6 chapters. Ezekiel is told by God to demonstrate this destruction by lying on his one side 390 days and on his other side 40 days. Jeremiah and Hosea are other prophets that God tells to demonstrate a message of judgment upon the people. It is interesting that Ezekiel eats the Word of God and it tastes sweet. Then he is determined to proclaim this message. God tells him that the people will not listen but he is to proclaim the God's Word anyway. Are we that determined to proclaim God's Word without discouragement and giving up? We must stay focused to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
