Day 263

Habakkuk 1-3

Habakkuk was deeply discouraged that the people of God were being conquered by a sinful and pagan people in the Babylonians. He prayed to God concerning this problem. God responded by saying that the evil men of Babylon would face judgment in the future and to live patiently as a righteous man obeying God. Many times we look at people around us who have no desire to serve God and we see them have great success while we may struggle. We ask the same question that is asked many times in scripture "Why are bad people succeeding?" The answer is simply to live our lives dedicated to God and let him deal with all others. Habakkuk comes to that conclusion in chapter 3 and praises God for who he is. In your times of difficulty do the same and see if it is not a prescription for a change of attitude in you.
