Day 305

John 18-21

The other 3 gospels seem to give us a look at the crucifixion from a good distance away. John, however, is close to the cross at the crucifixion. Jesus even talks with him and tells him that he is to take care of Mary. This up close look at the cross is one that is powerful and one we should look at intensely. John also adds a few details to the story in the discovery of the tomb. He ran ahead of Peter and saw the grave clothes separated into the head piece and the body piece. He knew that these neatly placed items could not have been done by someone stealing the body but rather only by one who was raised.

Tomorrow's reading: Acts 1-4
