Day 309

Acts 10-12

Another pivotal point in the life of the early church takes place in these chapters. The Gentiles are allowed to be forgiven of their sins and to take part in the sacrifice of Jesus. Praise God for this moment. This allowed those who are Gentile to be grafted into the family of God. We can now draw close to God even though we do not have the ethnic background of the Jewish people. The second aspect of these chapters that I find funny is when the people pray for Peter's release. The release happened and Peter arrives at John Mark's mother's house. The girl who sees Peter first reports it to everyone else. They had been praying for this to happen but they still claimed the girl was crazy until they saw it themselves. This is just like us. We pray for God to answer us and then when he does we skip right over it as chance or circumstance instead of the power of God. Next time you are praying for something from the Lord, don't be surprised when he answers!
