Day 339

I Timothy 4-6

Paul continues to give Timothy great advice on how to lead the church and to not let them look down on him because he is young. He also speaks of the fact the Jesus will return one day and that we need to stand ready for that occurrence. We need to work hard toward it and give God the glory when it happens. He also warns against foolish debates with people who have "so-called knowledge." How many people today try to display their "so-called knowledge" of the non-existence of God, Jesus, or the truth of the Bible? How many people are carried away by these thoughts? Certainly we have enough evidence historically of the reality of Jesus that we do not have to back away from any debate, but many foolish assertions are being accepted as fact because it alleviates responsibility to God. Concentrate of remaining faithful to the one true God.

Tomorrow's reading: II Timothy 1-4
