Day 346

Hebrews 5-7

In chapters 5 and 6 the writer of Hebrews emphasizes that each Christian needs to grow. The writer begs the question as to why some of the believers who have been believers for a long time are not teaching but rather still soaking in from others. This is the answer to many Sunday School classes that grow so large and are not sending out people to start new classes. Too many people get comfortable sitting in a Sunday School class when they should be out teaching another class. The last part of this reading focuses in on Jesus being the high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Jesus is the high priest even though he is not levite. He has met the life standard of the the high priest and the affirmation by God and thus is the high priest forever.

Tomorrow's reading: Hebrews 8-10
