Day 102

II Kings 13-17

In this passage the nation of Israel spins completely out of control. There are assassinations, worship of other gods, and pagan rituals that are celebrated by the kings of Israel. While Judah suffers from a couple of bad kings they are blesed to have a few good kings. Ultimately the Israelites were cast out of their nation and taken far away from their land. Foreigners from other lands were transplanted back into the land of Israel. The charge and judgment of God are listed in II Kings 17:7-40. God punished these people for disobeying the first commandment. How are you doing with the first commandment? Do you worship money, your family, time, your own body, sports, or maybe another god? Is there any other god before the Lord God in your life? Do some reflection today to see if you are like the transplanted people, you worship the Lord but you also dabble in other worship as well. Make God your only God!

Tomorrow's reading: II Kings 18-21

Sorry I am still playing catch up.
