Yeah I am finally caught up!
Ezra 1-3
The story of the return of the people to Judah is one authored by God using some unusual suspects. Cyrus the King of Persia releases the people to go back and reconstruct the Temple. As they were leaving the people of Babylon helped them with money and gifts. This reminds me of when the people left Egypt and were given gifts by the Egyptians. God seems to supply every need when we need it. I know that God helped the people in their return greatly. How has God contributed to your spiritual life lately? Do you need to do a spiritual check-up? The last of chapter 3 is so sad and yet glorious. The older people remember the greatness of the first Temple and the young people only see what they see of the new Temple. I hope we can always appreciate the past but never give up on the future.
