Ezra 4-6
God's plans will never be thwarted. Look at this reading today. The people are trying to obey God and yet the authorities stop them in their tracks and prevent them from rebuilding the Temple. Through a series of challenges finally the Temple is allowed to be rebuilt. It is interesting that King Darius doesn't just order that the leaders of the area let them rebuild but that they should pay for it. In the United States we are seeing a growing hostility to Evangelical Christianity. We should not fear though, because the plans of God will be fulfilled. If we have learned anything through these first 123 days of readings, it is that if we are with God who can be against us!
