Day 253

Amos 3-5

Let us focus in on the last few verses of Amos chapter 5. The people of Israel had gotten good at religion. They did their festivals, days of silence, and their offerings, but it meant nothing to God because their lives did not match up. In chapter 5 verse 24 God says that he wants to see a "mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living." God still wants to see that today. How pleased is God with your worship? Is he pleased or is it simply religious practice that has no effect on you the rest of the week. It would be interesting to read the commentary God has on each one of our lives.

Tomorrow's reading: Amos 6-7
