Day 322

Romans 12-16

Wow, the last four chapters of Romans is chalk full of incredible truths. I could blog on several of these truth but will pick one. I want to focus on chapter 12. Paul makes the point that every believer needs to put their hands to the plow and get to work for the Kingdom of God. Everyone has a spiritual gift (4-5) and everyone needs to devote themselves to using that gift (6-8). How many times do we look out over the congregation of the church and see the age old statistic firmly in place of 20% of the people do 80% of the work. This stat seems to be true in almost every group setting from community groups, to business, to social/service clubs. It ought not be true in the church! The church should be drastically different in this statistic. The people of the church should all be working as one body to proclaim the gospel and disciple the saved. If you are not actively serving in some capacity in your church from the age group departments, to teaching Sunday School, to singing in the choir, to cleaning up trash after Sunday morning, to greeting people at the door, then find your place of service. Don't let it be said of you that you were too lazy to be busy with the work of the Kingdom!

Tomorrow's reading: I Corinthians 1-6
