Day 351

I Peter 1-5

I Peter is an incredible summation of many areas of concern for the Christian. Peter deals with the sacrifice of Jesus and how this paid for our sins and that the resurrection completed the transaction of salvation for all who would trust and believe. Then Peter gets practical and speaks about wives submitting and loving their husbands and for husbands to love and honor their wives. If we had more of this type of complementary spirit then maybe we would have more successful marriages. Unfortunately, too many husbands love themselves more then their wives and thus too many wives are unwilling to submit to unloving husbands. The option should not be divorce but rather reconciliation with the power of the Holy Spirit at work in BOTH parties.

Tomorrow's reading: II Peter 1-3
